Lunch, afternoon tea or dinner - Edwardian Style

Throughout his life, Dylan's mother nurtured him with love and home cooking. The food she cooked for him would have been fresh, seasonal and sourced locally - today it would be called organic, farm fresh or homemade. In the same vein as Florence Thomas, we have lovingly crafted a variety of ways in which you can sample your own slice of culinary life at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive.

(Prices from £55 per person)
With a piano, phonogram and games table our dinner party guests can relive a typical Edwardian evening before the advent of television - all the while also enjoying  a 4 course menu of the very best produce that Swansea has to offer. Our sociable evening dinner parties can consist from just 4 people to up to 10 people with the evening starting at 6:30pm with pre-dinner drinks and a tour of the house.  Food is usually being served around 7:30pm amidst the splendour of the front parlour. For those who truly want to get into the spirit of the era why not dress up in your best vintage wears? (Guests are to supply their own alcoholic drinks.)

‘Taste of Wales’ hot fork buffet lunch

(Prices from £25 per person)
With the help of the family maid Florrie would make sure that a fine spread was on the table ready for Mr. Thomas to come home to from school of a lunchtime. Delivering a true ‘taste of Wales’ our lunch at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive is very popular with large families and groups. As always, the food is prepared from Florence Thomas’ own kitchen and served in the relaxed and atmospheric rooms of this 100 year old home. (Guests are to supply their own alcoholic drinks.)

Florrie’s pantry afternoon tea

(Prices from £16 per person)
There is nothing better than a nice cup of tea and a chat. Well, Mrs. Thomas did like to catch up on all the local gossip courtesy of friends and neighbours! Relax in the comfort of the Thomases front parlour (only kept for entertaining) and enjoy a bounty of beautiful home baked cakes and a selection of succulent sandwiches whilst being served a hearty Welsh brew or coffee. You can even have a go at twitching our net curtains if you wish…

All of our menus accommodate special dietary needs. Sample menus are provided upon request.

Take a look at what Great British Food Magazine had to say after they experienced the magic of 'Dinner at Dylan's'

We stayed overnight after a wonderfully prepared birthday dinner for my wife, Georgina the children, Magi (11) & Maisy (6) thoroughly enjoyed the magical experience of 5 Cwmdonkin Drive. The staff were out of this world and could not do enough for us.
